Fire and Windows
I arrived in Manila in June of 2009, living in a high rise apartment overlooking the Pasig River. Garbage circulated through it’s waters as the heat from our skins surface fogged up crystalline windows. Glass begins to feel like a a friend – who holds a tapioca milk tea and never looks outside. I use my laundry and search for my next meal. The disposal of works experience is often times bullied.
So thin, so soft, and artificially sliced – my cheeseburger at the shake shack chokes me out. Flicking forward our feet with the quickness of our hands, hospitality works. Feeling crazy, have a burger.
The strength of manila, in my eyes, is it’s campus feel and infatuation with Hannah. People like her possess and possess, but through god we find out that the wind above us keeps the trees green and our skin perfectly ten.
